Approach

Why cross-platform

Team developing cross-platform app

Building an app natively means two projects. One in Swift for iOS, one in Kotlin for Android. Two codebases, two teams, two timelines, and every future change made twice.

Cross-platform development builds both from one codebase. The app is written once and compiled for each platform, which typically cuts cost and timeline significantly compared to building separately.

For most business apps the difference in end result is negligible. Users can’t tell. What they notice is whether it works properly and loads quickly.

Where native still wins: apps built around heavy graphics, complex camera work, augmented reality, or deep platform-specific integrations. If your project needs that, we’ll say so during discovery rather than take on work that would be better done elsewhere.

Included

What's included

01

Discovery and scoping

What the app does, who uses it, and what belongs on mobile versus web. Written scope before development.

02

Design

Interface designed for mobile use, thumb-reachable actions, readable at arm's length, working on small screens.

03

Cross-platform build

Single codebase compiled for iOS and Android.

04

Backend and API

Where the app needs a server, we build it. Where it connects to systems you already run, we integrate.

05

Device testing

Tested across screen sizes and OS versions, on real devices, not just simulators.

06

App store submission

We prepare builds, write store listings, handle the submission process, and manage rejections if they happen.

07

Documentation and handover

Full source code, technical documentation, and everything needed to maintain it.

Publishing

About the app stores

Worth knowing before you start, because it affects timeline and cost. Both accounts stay in your name. You own the apps and can move them to another developer at any point.

Apple App Store

iOS Platform
  • Developer account

Requires an Apple Developer account, paid by you and registered in your company's name.

  • Review timing

Review typically takes a few days but can take longer.

  • Guideline rejections

Apple rejects apps for guideline issues fairly regularly — we handle resubmission as part of the project.

Google Play

Android Platform
  • Registration fee

    A one-time registration fee, lower than Apple's.

  • Faster review

Review is usually faster and less strict.

  • We handle publishing

We configure store metadata, screenshots, production tracks, and release builds for you.

Accounts remain

in your company's name.

You keep full

ownership of both apps.

Transfer to another

developer anytime you want.

No vendor

lock-in.

Timeline and cost

Scoped individually

A focused app with a handful of screens might be six to eight weeks. Something with user accounts, payments, and multiple user types takes considerably longer. App store review adds time at the end, usually a few days, occasionally longer if Apple raises issues.

What we commit to regardless:

  • Written scope before development
  • Staged delivery with test builds you can install and use
  • Weekly written updates
  • Staged payments tied to milestones

Fit

Who this is for

Businesses where customers or staff would genuinely use an app regularly, ordering, booking, account access, field work.
